When Vrinda discovered that Lord Vishnu had fraudulently corrupted her husband’s religion, she cursed Lord Vishnu to become a stone. The deities were all upset when Lord Vishnu transformed into a stone. They all begged Vrinda to remove the curse. Vrinda withdrew her curse in mercy.
